Day 1: Puno – Uros Islands – Amantani Island

After having breakfast at your hotel, the tour leader will pick you up to take you to the port. You will take a 30 minute boat ride. There are views of the lake until arriving at the floating islands. Welcomed by the locals who will show you the island and the products they weave. A 3 hour boat ride will get to the Amantani Island by 2.30pm. Arrive at our destination where our guide will introduce us to the local families who are going to share their houses with us. After lunch we will hike for one hour up to the mountain called Pachataita (Mother Father) which is located at 4150m above sea level. There, enjoying an amazing view of the sunset over the lake and a chance to relax and enjoy the fresh air. It is the best place to get pictures from all surrounding views of this blue sacred lake of the Incas. After your tour, you will go back to your family homes for dinner and then go to enjoy typical dances and local music.

Lake Titicaca is a dazzling sight; its deep azure waters seemingly extend forever across the altiplano, under the profound and wide sky at an elevation of 3800mt/11400ft. it is the world’s highest navigable lake which has been inhabited for thousands of years. Some islands like the Uros are made of a plant which grows on the banks that is called Totora.

Meal: Lunch and Dinner

Day 2: Amantani Island – Taquile Island – Puno

At 7am after your family breakfast, you will meet the group and embark the boat to Taquile Island. Two hours later you will arrive at your final destination. After an explanation from the guide on the culture of the inhabitants, you could make a few short treks around the island and finish the morning with lunch in the cooperative restaurant and visit the cooperative shop that sells woollen goods of very fine quality. Taquile Island is famous for its craft production, particularly for its beautiful textiles made by the men of the island. At 4 or 5pm you will return to Puno with a transfer to your hotel.
